FAQs

1. What safety precautions must be taken before installing the battery pack?

A:
To ensure personal safety and protect the equipment, the system must be completely powered down before installing the expansion battery pack. Do not carry out any installation work while the unit is in operation, as this may result in equipment damage that is not covered by the warranty.

Please follow the procedure below strictly:

a. Disconnect the BR2880/2400E from the photovoltaic (PV) modules.

b. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for more than 2 seconds to ensure the BR2880/2400E inverter is fully switched off.

c. Connect the battery pack correctly to the battery input of the BR2880/2400E.

d. Reconnect the PV modules and verify that the system starts up and operates normally.

2. Are there any additional precautions for installation and operation?

Yes. Please ensure that the system isproperly earthedin accordance with local electrical regulations.

3. Can the PV modules be connected in series?

Yes. Each PV input supports up totwo PV modules connected in series. However, the totalopen-circuit voltage (Voc)of the series string mustnot exceed 108 V, otherwise the equipment may be damaged.

4. Can the BR2880/2400E still be used during a power outage?

Yes. During a grid outage, the PV array can continue to charge the unit, and the system can provide1600 W / 2400 W off-grid backup power, depending on the model.

5. Can BR2880/2400E system data, such as energy generation and consumption, be integrated into a home energy management platform such as Home Assistant?

No. At present, theBR2880/2400Eonly supports monitoring and control via the dedicatedmobile appand doesnot support integration with third-party platforms, including Home Assistant.

6. What is the function of the smart meter with this product? How does it help minimise energy export?

The BR2800/2400E uses the smart meter to monitor the household’s real-time electricity demand and dynamically adjust the unit’s grid output power accordingly. This allows the system to match actual household consumption more precisely and reduce unnecessary energy export.

At the same time, the smart meter can detect whether the rooftop PV system is exporting surplus electricity to the grid. Based on this data, the BR2800/2400E can dynamically regulate its charging power and store excess energy in the battery in real time, so that the stored energy can be used later during periods of higher household demand.

7. Can the BR2800 operate with both PV and battery output at the same time?

Yes, the PV system and the battery storage system can operate simultaneously.

When the grid is available, the combined output power from PV generation and battery discharge is 800 W by default, with a maximum of 1600 W.

In the event of a grid failure, there will be no grid-feed output. However, the PV system can still charge the unit, while the device can simultaneously provide up to 1600 W of off-grid backup output power.

8. Can one smart meter be connected to multiple BR2800 units at the same time?

No. One smart meter can only communicate withone BR2800 unit.

9. Can I still use the BR2880/2400E during a power outage?

Yes. During a grid outage, the PV array can continue charging the product, and the unit can still provide1600 W / 2400 W off-grid backup power, depending on the model.
